Light Assembly

Light assembly, sub-assemblies, and component builds with time-on-station tracked per SKU. The labor model is auditable; the per-unit cost is honest.

What light assembly covers

From components to a sellable SKU.

1

Sub-assemblies

Component-level builds — battery insertion, accessory bundling, hardware kitting — done before the unit hits the master case.

2

Custom unit configurations

Per-unit customization runs — color/size variants, regional configurations, retailer-specific builds — each tracked as its own SKU.

3

Quality control inline

Per-station visual QC + functional check where applicable. Defective builds segregated to a rework zone, not shipped to customer.

How light assembly runs

Five steps from BOM to assembled inventory.

  1. 01

    BOM + work instruction

Bill of materials, work instruction, and target build count confirmed. Pre-build sample assembled and photographed for QA.

  2. 02

    Component pull

Components staged at the build station. Counts verified, damaged or wrong-spec components flagged before build.

  3. 03

    Build + QC

Assembly per the work instruction. Per-station visual QC. Functional check where required. First-build photo to you for sign-off.

  4. 04

    Label + pack

Assembled unit labeled with FNSKU or UPC. Outer packing per the spec sheet. Time-on-station logged per SKU for cost truth.

  5. 05

    Stage or ship

Assembled SKU receipted to reserve, or shipped inbound to retailer / FBA the same week.

I know I could start again. Just hire some people, do a warehouse, and just do the... It would not be inventory-based at that point. It would be services based.

Why brands move light assembly to us

The labor model behind the per-unit number is auditable.

1

Time-on-station tracked per SKU.

Per-build labor time logged in the WMS. The per-unit cost you quote your buyer is the per-unit cost we invoice — auditable line by line.

2

Pre-build QA approval.

First-build photo and sample sent for sign-off. You catch issues at unit 1, not unit 5,000.

3

Components reserved separately.

Component inventory and assembled SKU tracked as separate WMS records. Counts never lie.

4

Margin audit before scale.

Per-build labor, consumables, and packaging itemized in the proposal. No 'we'll figure it out' at invoice.
